ABOUT

The 1836 Club is an exclusive gathering place for distinguished professionals to enjoy exceptional company, cuisine, cocktails, and cigars in an environment designed to foster meaningful connections and new opportunities.
Named for the year Arkansas achieved statehood, The 1836 Club is located in the historic Packet House, one of the oldest surviving residences in the state. Built in 1869 by United States Senator Alexander McDonald, the home reflects the rich heritage of Arkansas and its capital city.
As you explore the 12,000-square-foot estate, you’ll be captivated by its stunning architecture, beautifully preserved features, and thoughtfully integrated modern amenities reserved exclusively for our members.
The first floor features a serene and stylish bar area, recipient of the regional American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) award. Members also enjoy access to private dining rooms ideal for business meetings or social occasions, including The Governor’s Room, The Caucus Room, and the Main Dining Room.
Ascend the elegant 156-year-old staircase to the second floor, where you’ll discover the Churchill Cigar Lounge, Little Rock’s premier cigar room. Designed in the style of an English library and adorned with portraits of Winston Churchill, the lounge offers plush leather seating and a meticulously maintained humidor stocked with premium cigars. It is the perfect retreat to unwind with a fine cigar and your favorite libation.
Also on the second floor is the Pilots Lounge, a tribute to Arkansas’s aeronautical legacy, which is the state’s largest export industry. This relaxed space features multiple flat screens for game-day viewing and a distinctive bar with a front that showcases a partial fuselage of a Boeing 737. The bar top is styled to resemble runways 18 and 36 of Clinton National Airport, cleverly tying into the club’s name.
Apply for membership and make The 1836 Club your home away from home. We look forward to welcoming you with exceptional service and providing the ideal setting for building business relationships and lasting friendships.
